Have you seen God partying with humans? In Southamerica I did ;).

Hi it’s me again. Right now I am 1300kms southway from my city (giving lectures as usual) but this time- at least- at sea level since this week I have to train people at Ilo port (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ilo)

Again after finishing my lecture, I was back at my nice hotel’s room facing the port and the Pacific Ocean, it was getting dark and I was ready to go to bed, but God have another plans for me. I was meant to see him party.

Han visto a Dios irse de fiesta con humanos? En Sudamérica yo sí. ;)

Hola, soy yo nuevamente. Ahora estoy a 1300kms al sur de mi ciudad (dando conferencias como siempre) pero esta vez -al menos- al nivel del mar, dado que esta semana tendré que entrenar gente en el puerto de Ilo (http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ilo)

Nuevamente, luego de terminar mi conferencia, estaba yo de regreso en la cómoda habitación demi hotel que da al puerto y al Océano Pacífico. Estaba poniéndose oscuro así que decidí irme a dormir, pero Dios tenía otros planes para mí. Iba a verlo de fiesta.

As my good friend Hanane from France would said “Ici en Peru, c’est toujours la fete” (here in Peru, there is always a party) Indeed. I was ready to go to sleep and I heard fireworks, drums and trumpets, so I asked the doorway “what is going on?” and again - at another city in another Hotel -, he answers me “There is a party going on in the streets”

Como dice mi buena amiga Hanane de Francia “Ici en Peru, c’est toujours la fete” (aquí en el Perú siempre hay una fiesta) De hecho. Estaba listo para dormir y escuché fuegos artificiales, tambores y trompetas, así que le pregunté al portero “¿qué pasa?” y nuevamente - en otra ciudad y en otro hotel - el portero me respondió “Hay una fiesta en las calles”

Is October and in Peru (or wherever there is a peruvian around the globe) there are two things to be done: 1.eat traditional desserts. 2. Venerate the LORD OF THE MIRACLES (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Se%C3%B1or_de_los_Milagros) doing a procession (at Catholic festivals this is when you take out the image of your patron and walk in the streets with it) which is in fact one of the biggest procesions on Earth, more than 1 000 000 people take the streets of Lima and walk 3 days with this image. Likewise peruvians around the world take this image out and not only walk and pray but also DANCE, DRINK and EAT with Him, which is something I want to highlight as the coolest thing I ever seen in a religious festival.

Es octubre en Perú (o en cualquier lugar del planeta donde hayan peruanos) hay 2 cosas por hacer: 1. Comer Turrón de Doña Pepa. 2 Venerar al Sr de los Milagros (http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Se%C3%B1or_de_los_Milagros) haciendo una procesión, la cual es de hecho, una de las más grandes del mundo, con más de 1 millón de personas que la siguen 3 días en Lima. De la misma manera, peruanos alrededor del mundo (y al interior del país) salen con esta Imagen y no sólo la acompañan rezando, sino que bailan, comen y beben con EL, lo cual - creo yo - es una de las cosas más buenas que haya visto en algún religioso

How down to Earth is to see God walking with you. I was at my hotel at Ilo port, I leave my room because of the music and party noise that came from the streets and there He was, an Image of God walking with its people, under fire works, under claps, and most important under the truly celebration of its people, who not only walk with him, but plays music and DANCE in front of him…how cool is that!

Que simple y bello es ver a Dios caminando contigo. Allí estaba yo en mi hotel en Ilo, dejé mi habitación debido al ruido de la música y la fiesta que venía de las calles y allí estaba El, una imagen de Dios caminando con su gente, bajo fuegos artificiales, bajo una lluvia de aplausos, y por sobre todo, bajo la sincera celebración de su gente, que no sólo caminaba con EL, sino que tocaba música y bailaba frente a EL…¡qué bueno está eso!

He is known as the LORD of THE MIRACLES and no wonder he is so famous since everybody wants a miracle be done, but still, it was so nice to open my windows and see God walking with its people, watching them dancing, talking, laughing, praying while a band plays out and loud cool music for HIM.

How cool is to think for a while, maybe God just wants us to enjoy, and that maybe, just maybe, we are not so different from Him. In any case he was the one who said “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness” So maybe He also likes to party good… and what a better place than Latin America to do that :)

EL es conocido como El Sr. de los Milagros y no hay duda que sea tan famoso, pues todos queremos que se nos cumpla uno, pero igual, fue muy bonito abrir mis ventanas y ver a Dios caminando con su gente, viendoles bailar, hablar, reir, orar mientras una banda tocaba fuerte buena música para EL

Que bacán es pensar al menos por unos instantes que quizás Dios sólo quiera que nos divertamos. Que quizás, sólo quizás, nosotros no somos tan diferentes de EL. De cualquier forma EL es quien dijo “Creemosle a nuestra imagen y semejanza” así que quizás Dios también quiera divertirse y festejar…y que mejor lugar que latinoamerica para hacer eso :)
